What is Cisterno - RM?
Radiological examination in which an electromagnetic field (magnet) is used to produce images of the part of the body being examined. A radio wave transmitter/receiver (scanner) and a computer are used to make a diagnosis and carry out medical follow-up.
Approximate length of procedure
2 hours. Remember to show up 30 minutes before the appointment at the service point.

This study requires 6 hours of fasting.
General indications for the exam
- Do not take any anticoagulant, antiplatelet or herbal medication for 8 days (consult your doctor before stopping to avoid complications).
- If the study has to be performed under general anaesthetic, observe the fasting period requested by the doctor during the pre-anaesthetic examination.
- Bring results of haemoglobin and platelet studies less than 1 month old.
- Bring results of creatinine studies less than 15 days old.
- Bring any previous tests relevant to the examination.
Tell the healthcare professional if: - You have claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces).
- You have metal parts in your body (screws, plates, brackets, pacemakers, prostheses, valves, tattoos or permanent makeup).
- If you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant.
How do I claim my results?
The results of this examination can be collected 2 working days after its completion, either in person at the Radiology Service (2nd floor, Tower B) or virtually via our online services, available on the HPTU Mobile App or via our web portal by clicking here.

Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
