When to check Pediatric Surgery?

At our hospital, we care for high-complexity pediatric surgery patients and perform elective and outpatient procedures. Therefore, patients typically arrive at the Pediatric Surgery department via referral from another specialist or through our Emergency Services.

In general, all our patients are evaluated by anesthesiology before the surgical procedure, and we have a pediatric radiology team that reviews diagnostic images before surgery to plan the procedure.

Some recommendations for a successful pediatric surgery include:

  • Following the fasting guidelines provided by the anesthesia professionals.
  • If required, performing basic coagulation tests, hemoglobin tests, or complete blood counts.
  • Adhering to the preoperative and postoperative instructions provided by the medical and specialized nursing team.
Comprehensive Care

Our comprehensive approach to health aims to guarantee the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of each patient, offering holistic and personalized care throughout their stay through the following support services:

Diagnostic Assistance

We conduct complementary studies to the clinical evaluation of the patient to confirm a diagnosis and take therapeutic actions.

Clinical Psychology

We provide psychological support to patients and their families who are hospitalized or require specialized outpatient consultation for their condition.

Clinical Nutrition

We offer the best nutritional care to patients, with an emphasis on high complexity, in a comprehensive, timely, friendly, and safe manner, in coordination with the interdisciplinary health team.

Social Work

We provide comprehensive support to the patient and their family, recognizing their protective factors, internal resources, personal, family, and social situations, in order to impact adherence to outpatient treatments proposed by the medical team.
