Dermatology

Dermatology is the discipline of medicine that studies the structure and function of the skin. It provides comprehensive care to patients with benign, premalignant or malignant pathologies of the skin and its annexes such as hair and nails; in order to make a timely diagnosis and timely treatment.

When to check Dermatology?

Consultation with a dermatologist is recommended in various situations related to the health not only of the skin, but also of the hair and nails. If you have the following conditions, we recommend you seek care from one of our dermatology specialists:

  • Persistent skin problems: If you experience conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis or other rashes that persist despite conventional treatments.
  • Change in moles or skin lesions: Any change in the shape, color, size or texture of existing moles, or the appearance of new lesions, requires dermatological evaluation to rule out possible problems.
  • Hair problems: If you have hair loss, persistent dandruff, alopecia or other scalp problems.
  • Persistent nail problems: Nail infections, changes in nail color or shape may indicate conditions that require specialized attention.
  • Sunburn: If you have experienced severe sunburn or notice unusual skin changes after prolonged sun exposure, you should receive dermatological counseling and evaluation.
  • Skin cancer prevention and detection: Regular skin evaluation, especially if there is a family history of skin cancer, is essential for early detection of potential problems.
  • Skin allergies: If you have allergic reactions that affect your skin, such as hives or contact dermatitis.
